I didn't really know what to expect when I started supervision with Kerri, but she instantly put me at ease. I look forward to supervision each month now. Kerri has created a safe, comfortable space where I can unpack any challenges I'm experiencing or ruminate on next steps for me career wise; or just offload systemic challenges and hurdles that make our work harder. I can literally feel myself growing, and stepping towards goals at the end of each session.

Our session will be

  • Personalized

Each session starts with you. What's on top, what you need, where your resiliency is sitting and is based on who you are and what your mahi is.

  • Targeted

Together we set goals on what you want to get out of your practice, improvements you want to make, and areas of your practice you want to explore. Each session works toward achieving those goals.

  • Non-judgemental

A safe space where you can unpack, pick apart and discuss all the things that make you.... well.... you. Critical analysis of your work and interactions throughout your mahi should incite curiosity and not fear or embarrassment or a feeling that you're not doing something "right". Together we look at practice with a lens of how we want to improve, how to strengthen areas and celebrate those areas that already shine!

Nothing is impossible, the very word itself says “I’m possible”

FAQs

How do i know if a supervisor is a “good fit”?

After having an initial consultation with a proposed supervisor there are some questions you need to ask yourself.

Did this person make me feel comfortable? Do I feel like I could be vulnerable with them? Do I feel confident in their competence? Did we “click”? Do I feel like they will push me to challenge myself? If not, you may need to keep looking.

What do you mean by “challenge” me?

Challenging is about creating opportunities to think outside the box, look at issues differently or pushing yourself to change aspects of your practice. We don’t know what we don’t know and there are lots of things that we can learn. As a supervisor, my job is to point out areas for more exploration.

What do you share with my employer?

With more and more employers paying for their staff’s supervision, often supervisees are worried about what goes into reports to employers for their yearly performance reviews. I do write reports for these if an employer asks for them but not without consultation and permission from you. They are usually high level and talk about goals or ways you have improved your practice. Nothing of what you say during sessions goes into these reports.
